The Update: Here is a bit of what’s been going on.
My advisor and boss (so to speak) decided he wanted to take a nice vacation to Florida a few weeks ago, so myself and a few peers decided it was only best if we brought him one step closer to Florida here in Mount Vernon, Ohio. 4 hours, 50 goldfish, and 800 square yards of aluminum foil later we had a work of art. Literally… Students and faculty poured into Lee’s office throughout the day to admire the fully covered office complete with detailed “alumination” of pens, furniture, and the large wooden Indian which was recently mistaken for a giant Easter chocolate. For more on this from Lee’s perspective see: Lee’s Blog
I have some of the greatest friends in my life. Not only is Chelsea a beautiful and incredible person, but our friends are also so beautiful and genuine. I happened to have a chance to be around 6 of the greatest girls on our campus (there are still several missing though) and had the chance to take a great photo.
Two weeks ago I decided that I would run for the MVNU Student Body President position. It took a lot of prayer, even more thinking, and preparation for a lot of responsibility and work. Although many of these things can be considered stressful, I still felt very led to run for this position. With the help of Stephanie, I was able to put up a poster that really spoke depths of who I am and what I would want our campus to be like if I were elected: Real. I wanted something that showed a bit of my personality. Something that was not screaming campaign and political presidency. I was very pleased with her ability to see the same vision I had.
Here is the election video I created for my presidency that was shown at the SGA Convocation Chapel. Just in case you don’t catch it, this is a movie in chapel about making a movie for chapel. Confused? Just watch it.
With the help of a great campus community, I was elected this past Wednesday. I am very stoked because of it and I am praying that I can be a true representative of the students, myself and of Christ. On Wednesday afternoon, Josh Wood and Patrick Neville led me into Sips Coffeehouse for a little “Presidential Celebration”. While most people thought they were there to see presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, Josh and Pat had plans of creating a celebration for the MVNU election. Here are the press release photos.
Because of all of the above, I received one of the lowest exam grades in my life. Needless to say, studying has gone up in the priority list to make sure this never happens again. Consider this the official “Lockdown Mode” battle cry.

Nate,
A fine post and congrats again on the election. I think it is now safe to take the campaign posters down. 🙂

Agreed on id’ing some of the most incredible people on campus.
Great now I’ll have to watch the movie “Saw” just to get the premise of your video. Congrats.
