For the past two years, I have been traveling the world with the world’s largest student film festival, and this weekend marks the 12th annual CMF Hollywood, the largest of our events. In regards to my personal social media accounts, they will come to a slight halt. I’ve got three phones geared up to share content through our Campus MovieFest accounts and we get more traffic than most brands get in an entire year. We rally up 500 of the top student filmmakers from around the globe and give them opportunities to pitch their reels, ideas, and best content to industry professionals. Our staff and industry professionals watch, critique, and promote content that won on the school levels; competing for the top prizes at CMF Hollywood. We’ve got student filmmakers, producers, screenwriters, and composers going home with over $20,000 and lots of prizing/ bragging rights.
Managing social media for Campus MovieFest, Ideas United, and a handful of our clients and partners is the best experience imaginable. I spend my afternoons and late nights creating new opportunities to showcase these tools and enhance every experience that we have from the theater to the parties. If we’ve learned anything, it’s that social media doesn’t exist as a separate entity, but there is an opportunity to enhance nearly every experience out there with the help of these social tools. This week, two years of online relationships are connected in face-to-face opportunities to share, create, and connect. After a few sleepless days of collaboration, we all head back to our separate cities around the world, stoked about this week, and we connect back thanks to our online platforms. CMF is introducing it’s presence on Vine with the Short(er) Film Festival. Students get one week to make a shorter film (and by shorter, we mean 6 seconds long) and share it to @campusmoviefest. The top filmmakers are going home with iPod Nano’s and all sorts of CMF gear.
Follow the action on your favorite Social Media tool using #CMFH – a special thanks to Facebook for sending hashtags live right in time for our event. We appreciate your consideration. 🙂 You can also see all sorts of insider scoops following @campusmoviefest.
As for my LTD Daily content, thanks for your patience and I sit on a handful of posts regarding the final days of my travel through Europe. I promise, lots of great travel and food are on the way. Keep living out your dreams.
