Last May, I launched a “Songs of Summer” challenge to all of my friends, followers, and subscribers (Shoutout to Eric Stetler and Jeff Scott who recently told me they check out the website). I must admit, my challenge was great in thought but poor in execution, as I dealt with a frenzy of playlists via Dropbox and had no clear winner or results. The playlists were diverse and featured some of the best songs of 2011.
In 2012, we will be trying a new approach, in celebration of Spotify coming to the USA in the past year. All playlists can be posted and shared via Spotify. Winners will be determined from the votes of listeners, viewers, and fans (voting for yourself will not be accepted).
So here’s what to do:
- Create your ultimate summer music playlist (up to 2 entries per person) on Spotify
- Share the appropriately-titled playlist to me, ndokuley.
- Upon receipt of the shared playlist, you will now be invited into all of the created playlists.
- Invite up to 5 others to get involved in the Songs of the Summer Challenge.
- Share the challenge on Facebook + Twitter #mysummerjam
There are many of you that I fully anticipate to take advantage of this opportunity as your tastes and opinions in the music world are both valued and respected by many. I fully expect diversity in music styles. What do you look for in your summer mixes? Let us know what your previous summers’ favorite artists and albums are, and start sharing before it snows again.
