A new season has started. Our CMF Team has moved to Brooklyn, New York City as we bring the film festival back to the Big Apple. Our jobs are hard work, but we’re taking time to make sure we soak up the City in our downtime. After a hardly appealing photo album of Atlanta (due to our lack of consistency and photography), we decided to be more intentional about documenting this experience. Here’s a look at the past few days.
First treat in Central Park, “Nuts for Nuts”, recommended by Alex Wise.
The C train is the start to every adventure. Not too confusing, besides the service changes and express stops. Although it took me 3 hours to get home from JFK on my first night without my cell phone or address.
I felt bad for this tree…
Shopping at Whole Foods in Manhattan. Our list is easy:
1. tea
2. snacks
3. eggs
4. feta
5. nuts
A look from above at Whole Foods.
Awesome store setup at Fjallraven, a Swedish outdoors company. It smelled like outdoor man here.
From the front window. Great branding.
I’m so impressed by boutique and small business store layouts here.
Found an awesome market for independent designers in SOHO
a New Yorker’s subtle way of saying, “Stay away big people”
Chinatown, NY. Not quite San Francisco, but home of the same smells and sights.
Heartbreak.
Alex-Anna bashing a Reese’s Cup outside of Hershey. Classic snack moment.
Times Square on a weekend night.
Paying my respects to a hometown, neighborhood-friendly restaurant. (I love you Ohio)
The only time it’s acceptable to give a stranger your iPhone in Times Square
This game was going on across from the church service at Trinity Grace Park Slope. It’s a great community of people.
Checked out the Park Slope Food Coop, the longest-standing coop in the USA. Amazingly low prices on local and organic foods that you couldn’t believe. Wish I could do a short-term membership (I had to sit back and couldn’t shop)
PC fail
A typical meal in Brooklyn. Eggs n’ Feta, turkey bacon, and pickled mushrooms from Dr. Pickle
This is our evening church community, Hillsong NYC
Underground art. It’s a nice alternative to homeless people peeing and Sharpie writing on advertisements.
We got tickets to see the Late Show with David Letterman. Lots of lines led us to a great seat in the crowd while Will Ferrell shared some laughs. Watch tonight!
Pictures aren’t allowed in the theater, but I managed a quick snap for proof.
Our local market has tons of snacks that shouldn’t be sold individually. But when Dunkaroo’s come around, we have no choice but to get involved.
